Orange Coast College and your instructor have the responsibility to ensure
that the grades assigned students are indicative of the knowledge level of
each student. It is the student's responsibility to refrain from acts of
academic dishonesty. Further, students should refuse to aid or abet any form
of academic dishonesty.

What constitutes academic dishonesty in this class?

 1. Obtaining information from another student during an exam.

 2. Communicating information to another student during an exam.

 3. Knowingly allow another student to copy one's work.

 4. Offering another person's work as one's own.

 5. Taking an exam for another student or having someone take an
    exam for oneself.

 6. Using an external source (cheat notes) to help you answer
    questions during an exam.

 7. Having another person or a company do the research writing and/or
rewriting an exam or report for which you receive credit.

 8. To present as one's own ideas or words the work of others (plagiarism).

 9. Stealing or attempting to steal an examination or answer key.

10. Stealing or attempting to change official academic records.

11. Submitting work done in one class for credit in another without both
    instructors' permission.

12. Having someone attend a class for you without the instructor's
    permission.

13. Forging or altering (or causing the same result) relative to
    attendance records.

What happens if you are caught?

You will receive an "F" grade for the semester. You will not be allowed to
withdraw even if it is before the last day to withdraw for the semester. A
record of the event will be placed in your official records. The college
administration may choose to suspend you from the college.
